About Me

My name is Terry Townsend.  I’ve been a photographer for over 40 years.  I developed my art through hard work and discipline.

I started my first studio at the age of 16, shooting portraits and weddings.  In my college years, I was a working full-time scholarship photographer for the schools I attended.  I started another studio after graduation and later decided to become a photojournalist.  The Tuscaloosa News and later The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel.

In 1981, I formed Townsend Photographics and TPI Multimedia.  Working with Steve Starr, of Starr Productions.  I photographed slide shows, public relations, advertising for large corporations.  Most of the same clients I had in the 1980s, I still have today.  That should tell you something.  I’m dedicated to my clients.  I get the job done, on time and the quality is perfect.

Some of my clients are – Florida Power and Light – over 30 years, Burger King – over 30 years, Southern Glazer’s, TD Bank – over 12 years, Hard Rock Resort, General Electric, Pollo Tropical, Ryder Systems – over 20 years, CitiBank and many more.
